Fleetwood Town Community Trust Login planetliga have been working alongside British soccer climate action network Planet league to help fans take action against global warming and other environmental issues. This week, ahead of Fleetwood’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday 25 October, members will be at the club’s training ground to educate supporters about their actions and what they can do to help.

In the game, players form teams of two to six people and play against others in a single-elimination tournament. Each match lasts three minutes. The goal of the team is to collect the most points on a magnetic planet core, which has sections that correspond to habitats on a given planet. Teams receive points for each habitat they complete and for completing a bonus objective. The team with the most points wins the tournament.

Teams are eligible for the planetary playoffs once they have played a minimum of 9 games during the regular season. If a team does not have 9 paid participants, they can sign up for the waitlist free agent teams and we will attempt to find them a spot in the league (provided they have paid their full fee).

Any player who receives a Gross/Abuse of Official penalty is subject to a minimum of 2 games of suspension. All other penalties are reviewed and handled by the League Coordinator.

The competition is open to all clubs – not just those playing in the top divisions – and has attracted thousands of grassroots footballers and hundreds of schools, as well as 12 County FAs. The winning club will receive a trophy and an eco-friendly holiday in the UK. This is the second year Planet league have run this tournament, which has been a huge success with more than 70,000 fans taking part in the first month of the campaign. They have also partnered with Ball Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of sustainable aluminum packaging, to support the event. The competition runs until the end of November.
